What to Expect

Lip and labret piercings take about 15–20 minutes start to finish. Your piercer discusses placement, marks it, you check it, then it's done. The goal is a placement that heals comfortably and sits right with your anatomy.

We pierce with single-use hollow needles and start you with a longer flat-back labret post to accommodate swelling. Once healed (3–6 months), you downsize to a shorter post that fits snugly and reduces irritation.

All initial jewelry is implant-grade titanium. No exceptions for fresh piercings.

What's the difference between labret, medusa, and monroe piercings?+
Labret = center lower lip, below the lip line. Medusa (philtrum) = center upper lip, in the groove between the nose and upper lip. Monroe = off-center upper lip, mimicking Marilyn Monroe's beauty mark. All use flat-back labret posts.

How long does a lip piercing take to heal?+
Labret and medusa piercings typically heal in 3–6 months. Keep the longer starter post in for the first 6–8 weeks to allow for swelling, then come in for a downsize — this step matters a lot for long-term comfort.
Will a lip piercing damage my teeth or gums?+
With proper placement and correctly sized jewelry, damage is minimal. A labret post that's too long and left in past the swelling phase is the main cause of tooth/gum issues. That's why downsizing at the right time matters. We'll remind you.
