Implant-grade titanium (ASTM F136) or solid 14k/18k gold are the only materials we recommend for fresh piercings. Avoid surgical steel (often contains nickel), mystery metal, acrylic, and anything plated. Platinum Tattoos & Piercings uses exclusively implant-grade materials on every new piercing.

Healing times vary by placement: earlobes 6–12 weeks, cartilage piercings 6–12 months, nostril 4–6 months, septum 6–8 weeks, daith 6–9 months. Everyone heals differently. Follow your aftercare routine and come back at 5–6 weeks for your downsize appointment.

Yes — our piercers can do multiple placements in one session. We generally recommend 2–3 piercings per visit max to give your body the best chance to heal properly. Come in and talk to your piercer about what makes sense for your anatomy.

Eat a full meal beforehand, stay well hydrated, and wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the piercing site. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment — it thins the blood and can complicate the process. Bring your ID.
